The One about Nostalgia….
So my little sisters where bored and as always when my mother punishes them for misbehaviour and turns off the TV they decide to go through all our junk and take out all the old school photos and ask questions that sound like….what did you do back in the day?? (as if it was that long ago?) and what was it like?
Now that just throws me in Nostalgia mode. I have been more prone to it ever since I got back home and started living with my family again. After being away at school and working on my own for so long I am sometimes rushed by this sudden wave of reminiscence…What I used to do as a kid, places I used to go, things I used to eat and shows I used to watch. As time progresses everyone gets to say Our childhood and our generation was much better than what it is now. But I am proud to be a kid of the 90s. Hell we had so much safety and freedom. none of this viral you tube videos..social media…where everyone gets to have their 15 mins of fame…How many ppl am I supposed to care about these days?
It was all about the innocence…Back when Microsoft was king! The gameboy weighed a ton (but was awesome) and we watched shows like goosebumps, are you afraid of the dark and Fresh prince of belair. When Cartoons werent on 24/7 to rot our brain but where allocated specific times. When you werent connected all the time through laptops, iphones and ipods…but everyone had to share a common TV which brought about unity. Those where the days…and i truly feel kids nowadays…mainly my sisters…are missing out!
So if you are going through the same phase I am…. Shout out to you first for being a 90s kid and why not share a little bit of what you used to do.
Excuse my ramblings..I thought id share my thoughts with outer space since you can do that now …
toodles
